Opening Night (Part Deux)

Opening Night (Part Deux) for the 2017 Piedmont Flyers Training Rides is here!
Please visit the 2017 Tues/Thurs schedule page for more info.

Our training rides season (really) kicks off tonight! Last week's bitter cold kept most of our bikes in the shed but this week looks like the season will kick into the big ring. Ride from the square in the warm air!

Reminder this year all three groups (A, B & C) will be doing the same ride each night. Also please refresh yourself on the rules of the road below.
1.   We depart Belnette Drive in groups of 8 to 10, single file to the regroup site.
2.   From the regrouping site, A group first, followed by the B and C groups
Please respect the intended average speed of each group.
4.   Do not let stop signs or intersections become break points.

Opening night also kicks off our Annual PFBC Fundraising Campaign. The campaign will run from today through the 2017 Bikes for Kids LYRMC, to be held on Saturday, May 13th. Please take a moment to renew your annual membership during the fundraising campaign. Your membership dollars go towards both our Bikes for Kids program and our group ride insurance through the League of American Bicyclists.

For more information on the LYRMC please click here. We are still looking for volunteers to help with our rest stop. If you would like to help out please contact Bruce Abbey or myself.

Reminder, don't miss our Sunday afternoon ride, 2:00 pm from the square. The ride length will start to lengthen as the season gets going. Check the PFBC Facebook page for ride details. Expect each ride to be 40-50 miles at a 18-19 mph pace.
